I met Shawn Butler at a class I was teaching on Speed Reading. I thought I would impress him with my knowledge on how our names were the male and female derivative of the same name. He seemed impressed by the comment-yes! After class, there was a shadow lurking outside in the hallway which turned out to be Shawn! Needless to say, the next few months (or years, sort of) were quite exciting.
Shannon and I met at college where she was the teacher in a reading lab I signed up for. When she took role, she said, “Shawn, did you know that our names are the male and female derivative of the same name?” Wow, a girl that could talk etymology, and she was hot, too. I was smitten. I lurked—er, waited after that very class in order to get to talk to her some more.
I guess I wanted to post all my things that I am doing because I have always been a list person, and then after having two kids I found myself a little too caught up in the mommy role to remember who I was for a while. So I figured that having goals would help me figure out what I really wanted in life again. This had better work!
